ABOUT THE SOCIETY

The association was founded with the aim of contributing to quality and active spending of holidays, encouraging cooperation and socializing between members of the association and other related organizations, bringing together children and children with special needs and their
parents/guardians, to contribute to the awareness of the general public about the way of work (eng.buddy system) and with its non-profit program policy of an open social space to support high-quality, innovative and poorly researched culture.

 

The MAIN GOAL of the association is: 

To improve the quality of life of children and children with special needs and their parents/guardians through mutual cooperation.buddy system), with the help of the fields of pedagogy, defectology, psychology, social work and psychosocial assistance.

Catherine Anderson

Bachelor of Social Work (Old Dominion University)

Co-founder 

Many years of experience in the field of working with children (learning and behavioral problems, autism spectrum disorder) and adults with mental health problems - both in Slovenia and abroad.

In America, she was employed at the hospital's gerontology department (Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Atlantic Shores Virginia Beach), and volunteered at the Autistic Buddies Society (Virginia Beach).

In Slovenia, she gained experience at the Center for Social Work, in the Koper unit (Crisis Center for Children and Adolescents Marelična House, DDTC Barčica, SS Val...). Currently employed in a health clinic in Ljubljana.

Anna David

Graduated counselor of psychosocial assistance

Co-founder

Master's student in psychology.

Many years of experience in working with children (learning and behavioral problems, autism spectrum disorder) and adults with mental health problems.

She gained experience at the Petka day care center in Koper, SS Val, DDTC Barčica, Zavod Modri December.

He regularly attends various seminars, lectures and events on the topic of autism spectrum disorders. It offers afternoon child care and additional learning support in Ljubljana and the surrounding area. Currently employed at a primary school in Domžale.
